Duties on import of cars for the Belarusian individuals will remain stable until July 1, 2011. The decision is enshrined in the Protocol on certain temporary exemptions from the regime of a single customs territory of the Customs Union, the agency BELTA informs.
"We were interested to this Protocol did not exist. So far, unfortunately, the parties were unable to ascertain the full establishment of a single customs territory, as preserved a number of exemptions from which, unfortunately, at the moment are not ready to give up "- said the agency Deputy Prime Minister Andrei Kobyakov.
According to him, until July 1, 2011 Belarus has maintained a national regime for regulating trade with third countries. He also stressed that the establishment of the Customs Union must not lead to a deterioration in conditions of mutual trade with third countries.
Treaty establishing the Customs Union between Russia, Kazakhstan and Belarus was signed in Minsk on November 27, 2009. Formally, he began operating on 1 January this year. However, the actual full-fledged union and a single customs territory of the three countries had to wait until July 1, when joined by a common Customs code.
Prior to that country participating in the agreement could not agree with each other on the most sensitive issues. Duties on imported cars by individuals have been one of those issues.
For a long time it was unclear whether the law signed on joining the Customs Union of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, but on Independence Day of Belarus on July 3, he said that the country has ratified all the treaties and agreements concerning the Customs Union.
